Child Trafficking Industry: Meet Civil Lawyers Against World Sex-Slavery
We went on a search for lawyers who understand they can make a difference in helping victims recover and in holding predators accountable. And we found CLAWS, founded by trial lawyer David Boone, right here in Atlanta.
Please get to know David Boone and David Lester, the Executive Director of Civil Lawyers Against World Sex-Slavery. This child trafficking and sex trafficking problem is much closer to home than you might think, and there IS something we can do about it if we work together.
CLAWS held its inaugural benefit at the Atlanta History Center recently and screened the documentary 8 Days, drawing a large crowd and an intense reaction and commitment from all.
Georgia’s law enforcement leadership showed up and spoke out, including Attorney General Sam Olens, in a clear voice about the strong commitment to shut down this trade in human life. The Georgia Trial Lawyers Association also had a strong presence and indicated this issue and mission will have its support.
Citizen journalist Nydia Tisdale contributed her time and talent in producing this video so that you can hear more about this critical mission to end sex trafficking and about what CLAWS is doing to make a difference. Listen also at about 29 minutes to the beautiful voice of Kara Claudy, a local singer-songwriter in Georgia, who presented the song she composed for CLAWS called Now That We Know.
